Hello Dear Reader,
Where has this weekend gone? It seems to have been spent running around and not really getting much done. I did put my feet up yesterday and also managed a browse around the local charity shops and some grocery shopping in the local fruit and veg shop but that's about it. I set off for Radio Cornwall this morning with snow trying to fall and a black sky that looked ominous. Fortunately, I drove home in lovely sunshine. The weather can be so fickle in Cornwall. It was lovely to spend an hour with Tracy Wilson (if you've met her, she is a giggle) and hearing from listeners texting and emailing ideals of frugal recipes of their own.
I then came home and put together my workshop programme for the next three months. I've added frugal cookery workshops too, so if you're interested and want some help then follow the links above and get in touch and it would be great to spend the day with you. If cooking, menu planning, kitchen organising or budgeting sends you in a spin, then get in touch and one of my workshops could really help you.
I've also added a sewing for beginners workshops for anyone who has never even touched a machine but would like to give it a go. They won't need to bring a thing! Also, by special request, are two workshops where you can learn new quilt blocks where you can take away a new skill and turn it into a quilt.
I'm now shattered and off for a cup of tea in front of the fire.
Until tomorrow,
Love Froogs xxxx

Froogs, I would have e-mailed a question or comment to Tracy if you'd told us in advance this was your week. Do you have a set schedule, or do they just call you.
ReplyDeleteOn the 17th of February, you may wish me happy birthday on the air!!
I will!
DeleteMay we assume you are on at about the usual time (approx. 2:00 on the slider)? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteUsual time, slide the slider until the last hour.
Deleteah I missed it. I will see if I can listen to it tomorrow
ReplyDeleteI should learn from you, I tend to spend a lot. But I buy low-cost and in the Porta Portese flea market here in Rome, they have great bargains. The best thing would be to learn to make my own clothes.
ReplyDeleteThe dinner party menu sounds lovely, I wish I lived closer so that I could attend
ReplyDeleteI'd love to come to your frugal workshops but as I live a long way from you that wouldn't be very frugal!

Hi Froogs,
ReplyDeleteI am a competent cook, but am useless at menu planning . I would really appreciate a session on menu planning/ stock taking/ organised buying (get the picture!) but not necessarily the hands on cooking. Would that be possible at some time? with 4 hungry teenagers (3 boys whose appetites are huge)and a part time job that is gradually becoming more fulltime, I know I need to get to grips with this. I love cooking, but the planning just doesn't work at the moment!
Hiya :) So I actually have a question :D
ReplyDeleteSee the soup: when you freeze it, how do you defrost it? Does it still taste nice? I'm a bit confused about this defrosting part :( How long does it take, for a portion of soup to defrost? xx
I'm not Froogs...but I've defrosted soup just about every which way there is, and it still tastes fine. If you are in a hurry, you can sit it in a pan of hot water until it slides out of the freezing container, then put it in a covered saucepan and heat on medium heat until it is thawed and hot.
DeleteHi Froogs
